Rugby Swimming Club continued to take advantage of the Master Class series at the discounted rate! This time they had chosen to work on their swimmers Breaststroke. The visit ran as two, one and a half hour session, splitting the younger and older squads. Amy and Joe were also joined by Commonwealth Medallist and England Breaststroker, James Wilby. James is a Loughborough University trained swimmer who has shown huge improvements of the last 12 months. Last Summer he used his fantastic technique to compete in the final of the men’s 200 Breaststroke, as well as picking up a relay medal. Competing in arguably the most competitive event in British swimming right now, James has to use his great technique to challenge the leaders. So was perfect to demonstrate to the swimmers at Rugby.

Here is the feedback we received recently after our talk at the East Region ASA District Camp.

“We had Joe Roebuck and Amy Smith in their GB kit deliver the lifestyle presentation but with a mix of their experiences thrown into it, relating often to their achievements and preparation of London 2012 Games. This was excellent and they also brought their medals to help inspire the swimmers to aim for that next level”.

“The presenters would be great for both regional events or if you get a club asking for some suggestions, I would recommend these.”

Hitchin Swimming Club developing squads had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a front crawl masterclass with Joe Roebuck and Amy Smith from Swim Swift Elite at the start of 2015. The talk on motivation, breathing and technique followed by a practical session in the pool really inspired our young swimmers, parents and coaching  staff who can now put into practice the techniques on starts, turns  and finishes as well as on stoke technique which Amy and Joe clearly explained and demonstrated.  The swimmers are buzzing from their experience, we highly recommend it.

Here are some of the great swimmers we met at the end of November in Rugby. We attended Rugby Swimming club to work on aspects of Backstroke technique, and land work with the swimmers. A great time was had by all, and lots of new skills and drills were learnt. A great group to work with.
