Thank you to everyone at Saxon Crown Swimming club who welcomed us on to poolside to chat with swimmers about how to motivate themselves during training, and deal with any nerves during competition. We included our own stories and personal experience to help the swimmers relate. In the pool we focused on Freestyle, and used a variety of different drills to make sure the swimmers focus on important elements of their stroke and breakout. We had many questions from the swimmers after the session, and not only did everyone enjoy themselves, but they learnt something too!

We were happy to visit Red Top a club aimed at all adult swimmers ranging from fitness swimmers, Triathletes, Ironman athletes and open water swimmers. Over our 3 sessions across a range of London pools, including an open air Lido in London Fields, we worked with the swimmers on freestyle technique. The swimmers were introduced to some new drills, technical elements, given pointers and individual feedback and combined with live demonstrations from the Olympic athletes it resulted in an extremely successful 3 day. We received a very warm welcome from Red Top and will be looking to visit them again in the future!

Our second day with Gloucester ASA was another success as we ran through our Starts & Turns Master-class at Millfield School. We had attendees from Bristol Henleaze SC, Bristol Penguins SC, Bristol Central SC, Bishopsworth SC, Severnside SC, Soundwell & SCSouthwold SC. We would like to thank Gloucester ASA for giving us the opportunity to be part of the swimmers improvement and to Millfield School for letting us use their fantastic facilities.

This full day starts and turns masterclass went tremendously. We had swimmers from Bristol North, Gloucester, Cirencester, Cinderford, Dursley, Lydney, and Tewkesbury attend. The swimmers completed two pool sessions, a land training session, and were also given the fantastic opportunity to listen to the motivational journeys of both Joe and Amy during a classroom session. Every swimmer learnt many new skills, and had great fun at the same time. We would like to thank Gloucestershire ASA for inviting us to be part of these swimmers development, and also Malvern College for allowing us to use their fantastic facilities.

We look forward to day 2 with swimmers from the south of Gloucestershire at Millfield on the 14th of June!

This was our second visit to Redditch Swimming Club, and this time we focused on Butterfly technique and touch turns. Two groups took part for an hour and a half each, and broke down the Butterfly stroke and turn using unique drills. Everyone gave the drills a go, and came out with a better understanding of how to make Butterfly as efficient as possible.

Thank you to everyone at Redditch Swimming Club for working hard and allowing us to visit for a second time. We hope to see you all again.

A huge thanks to everyone at the Borough of Harrow Swimming club for inviting us to join them and deliver a starts and turns swim clinic. There was lots to fit in, but with very attentive and engaged swimmers, we all had a brilliant time and learnt lots at this clinic. This was followed up with an inspirational discussion, sharing our Olympic journeys and helping the swimmers to set goals and achieve their dreams. It was also great to have coaches involved and open to hearing new ideas.

Thank you to everyone at Borough of Harrow SC for a great swim clinic!

On 18th April, Joe from Swim Swift Elite made the long journey down to Bath, Somerset, to encourage and support those who wanted to raise money and challenge themselves for this incredible cause. Well done and a big thank you to all who took part or supported the event, and raised money for this fantastic charity.

Great News

After 7 months of studying and hard work, Amy from Swim Swift Elite is now qualified in Sports Massage Therapy. This additional anatomical knowledge can only enhance the service we are offering to swimmers to help with their technique & training.

“Swim Swift Elite’s second 2 day camp was held at Welbeck Defense College in Leicestershire on the 9th & 10th of April. Lots of one to one attention was given to all swimmers, meaning that everyone came away with individual feedback for improvement.

After ice breakers with pre-pool priming and conditioning, morning one focused on stroke technique for Butterfly in the pool. After lunch, we talked with swimmers about how to motivate themselves for training and racing, and ways to cope with pre-race nerves. We then got everyone back in the gym to work on their core stability, something so important for swimmers, before heading back into the pool to look at our Backstroke technique.

Day two followed the same pattern, but looking at Breaststroke and Freestyle technique in the pool, flexibility & Pilates, with a fitness circuit to finish off in the gym. We examined race tactics and why we supplement swimming with land work in the classroom.

Overall a fantastic camp! Great facilities at Welbeck Defense College, and we really appreciated the brilliant feedback we have had from swimmers and parents since the camp.”

Here’s what people said:

“The first thing Alfie said to me at the end of the day was ‘when is the next one?’. He has done quite a few other camps and never liked them very much but he loves coming to you. After the first camp he did he got his first ever regional time after a year of no PBs at all and then 2 days after the second camp he got his second one. He’s so delighted and completely attributes his success to you – thank you!”

Susan Raikes.

“My daughter went with high expectations and she was not disappointed. She had a thoroughly brilliant experience and has not stopped talking about the improvements she made over the day. She did ache for a couple of days afterwards having exercised muscles she didn’t realise she had. An extremely productive course. Well done all those involved.”
